Signals from Pinehaven #2 | Signed Paperbacks

We Meet Again...

Hey there, Operator Reader!

I told you I'd come back with news about signed paperbacks and I meant it. But first, happy June! I hope everyone is having a great month! Happy Pride, baybeeee!

I would have liked to get this newsletter out a lot earlier, believe me. But if you're following me on any social media platforms, you may have seen that I've been doing nothing but bitching and moaning about my tonsillectomy - but I think I'm pretty justified. That shit hurts real bad and they took my uvula. Thankfully, I'm two weeks out from the surgery and feeling a lot better now!

A lot of crazy personal life stuff is coming up this summer. I'm helping my mom get an apartment, I'm looking into moving to a different city myself, and I have huge goals for my Midwestern Gothic collection. So, I'll make the rest of this newsletter really short and sweet!

My first non-horror story?

As I've been working on Midwestern Gothic (working title), one thing stood out to me regarding one of my favorite stories in the collection so far: it's not a horror story at all. The genre of gothic fiction is something I've always tip-toed the line of. By definition, gothic literature is gloomy, mysterious, and often tells stories about human nature and its darkest sides. But is it horror? Not always. Horror-adjacent, maybe, and that's where I'm currently camping out with this collection of tales: in a place where eeriness comes with a sliding scale of horror that goes from "just a little bit uncomfortable" to "let's throw the book in the trash and turn all the lights on".

I don't want to spoil too much about this story, obviously, but I hope that you all will resonate with it when you read it. It's a somber tale about the struggling relationship between an old man and his granddaughter, bound together by legends of their small town's ghost train. It'll be the first story I've ever published that didn't feature any 'scary' elements at all, instead opting for a melancholy, psychological, and reflective atmosphere. And I hope you guys love it.

Signed paperbacks are available for pre-sale!

Signed paperbacks are back on the menu, boys!

While I was in the hospital, I ordered a crate of books with a mixture of Book One and Book Two. While I'm waiting for those to arrive, I'm sending out hidden links to the shop so you cuties on my newsletter list can get first dibs before anyone else knows the listings are even there!

The Next Broadcast...

The next newsletter will have more information about upcoming merchandise, as well as more previews of what I'm working on book-wise now that I'm recovered from surgery! July is my birthday month, so I want to come out with some really fun stuff for my shop.

I know I didn't have much to update you all on this month. As it turns out, folks weren't joking about how hard it would be to recover from a tonsillectomy when you're an adult. Let's hope they don't grow back so I never have to do it again. Fingers crossed.

Ok love you bye

Back to Our Feature Presentation... Hey there, Operator Reader! Sorry I was gone for a couple months, I was busy wallowing in despair. In all seriousness, the world has just felt too heavy to be creative lately, and I know this isn't a unique problem. It can be difficult to see a reason to keep writing or making art when everything outside our homes is scary and uncertain. I'm sure plenty of you are going through the same feelings right now. So, let's talk about it. How to Be Creative in The...

It's Been a Minute... Hey there, Operator Reader! I promise I didn't die. But I have a good excuse for my absence and it's: 1) I was swamped with projects, and 2) I am so very, very sleepy. But I've got way too much stuff to talk about to hold off any longer! On the docket tonight, I'm going to tell you guys about my new book release (and how to get your hands on it), the audiobook for A Lonely Broadcast 2, what I'm working on next, and some future projects I'm bouncing around in my head....

A Haze Over the Great Lakes Hey there, Operator Reader! August is here already and I can officially say that I spent a decent amount of July traveling close-to-home doing some research for my next book. Okay, yeah, playing around in the Great Lakes while humming the Kraken theme from Pirates of the Caribbean 2 isn't very academic, but it meant something to me. Joking aside, I was actually super busy. My mom, who has been in my care for ten years, was finally able to move into her own place...
